The UWMAA offers a variety of career services to alumni.
Career counseling/advising, planning and job search assistance
If you are figuring out your next career step or want assistance with your job search, a dedicated alumni career counselor is here to help. Alumni Career Counselor Cindy Petrites is available for 50-minute in-person or phone appointments at the UWM Career Development Center. Appointments are free of charge to UWM alumni. Alumni are also welcome to come to Express Lane, which are 15-minute time slots when you can have a quick career-related question answered or your resume or cover letter reviewed. Express Lane hours are M: 4-5:45pm, Tu/Thu: 9:30-11:30am, Wed: 2-4pm, and Fri: 10:30am-1pm. No appointment is necessary for Express Lane, which takes place at the Career Development Center, Mellencamp Hall 128.

Career Transitions CenterIf you're considering a new career path or just want to brush up your job search skills, UWM's new Career Transitions Center (CTC) is a great place to start. The UWM CTC, a collaborative program involving the UWM School of Continuing Education, UWM Office of Alumni Relations and the UWM Career Development Center, offers career navigation tools, classes, seminars and other programs relevant to career change.
Located in downtown Milwaukee in the UWM School of Continuing Education at Second and Wisconsin Avenues in the Grand Avenue Mall, the Center also offers face-to-face, one-on-one career analysis, advice and planning. Course offerings at the CTC include an online, eight-week course, “Pathways to a New Career”; a six-week course, “New Horizons: Discovering What's Important for Your Next Work Experience”; and a three-session workshop, “Networking for Career Exploration and Job Search.“ For more information about these programs or about the UWM Career Transitions Center, please visit www.sce-ctc.uwm.edu or call 414-227-3243.
