The mission of the Department of Administrative Leadership is to contribute to the development of competent, inquiring educational leaders, particularly for service in urban areas.
The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is committed to the preparation, development and education of pre-service and in-service teachers for grades Pre-Kindergarten to 12th grade.
Education Outreach offers continuing education credits and non-credit courses for persons in fields of adult education, community service, social service and health care. Convenient off-campus and distance education courses are available.
The Department of Educational Policy and Community Studies provides students with a deeper understanding of urban educational issues with a focus on the historical, political, economic, and socio-cultural context of communities, schools and society.
The Department of Educational Psychology offers various educational tracks geared to those who want to increase their understanding of human behavior from conception through adulthood, research and evaluation of learning, and teaching in informal and formal educational settings.
The Department of Exceptional Education at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is committed to the preparation of personnel who teach and serve individuals with disabilities, particularly those in urban settings.
The Urban Education Doctoral Program offers an interdepartmental program of study leading to a Ph.D. The program is designed to permit students to integrate a particular area of specialization within the broader field of urban education.
